誰かと声を合わせてハーモニーを歌うのに、特別な理由なんて本来いりません。でも、もし理由が欲しいなら、合唱や歌うことが心と体の健康に良い影響を与えることを示す科学的な研究がたくさんあります。もちろん、心身ともに健康な人ほど長く充実した人生を送る傾向があります。さあ、私たちと一緒に歌いませんか。歌って、笑って、長く幸せな人生を楽しみましょう。

私たちは演奏会をしないので、チケットを売ることもありません。オーディションもなければ、リハーサルさえしません。ただ集まって歌うだけです。図形音符が読める方なら、それはとても簡単です。もし図形音符を読めなくても、私たちがお教えします。

七図形の会
主に英語や日本語の讃美歌（クリスチャン・ハーモニー）、フォークソング、童謡などアカペラ四部合唱で歌います。
毎月第２土曜日（８月は休み）

No one should need an excuse to blend their voice with others in harmony, but if you do, there is substantial scientific evidence that shows it has measurable physical and mental health benefits. And of course, people in good physical and mental health live longer than everyone else. So come out to sing with us and live long and happy lives.

We don’t sell tickets because we don’t perform. We don’t audition or even rehearse. We just sing, which, if you can read shape notes, is easy enough. And if you can’t read shape notes, we’ll teach you.

こちらの写真を見ると、私たちのセイクリッド・ハープの歌会が東京タワーにどれほど近い場所で行われているかがお分かりいただけると思います。文字どおり、その影の中――左側に見える教会で歌っています。

ときどき、興味をひかれた観光客が通りがかりにふらりと立ち寄り、しばらく耳を傾けていかれることがあります。特に心に残っているのは、ある小さな女の子が中に入ってきて、お母さんがドアの外で辛抱強く待っているあいだ、30分近く私たちと一緒に歌ってくれたことです。

もしあなたも私たちと一緒に歌いに来てくだされば、その歌声を耳にした誰かもまた、心を動かされて、自分の声を重ねてくれるかもしれません。

Here’s a view that gives you an idea of just how close our Sacred Harp singing is to Tokyo Tower. We’re literally in its shadow, in the church on the left.

Every so often, a curious tourist wanders past, steps inside, and listens for a while. On one especially precious occasion, a little girl came in and sang with us for nearly half an hour while her mother patiently waited outside the door.

If you come sing with us, perhaps someone else will hear us too and feel inspired to add their voice to ours.

 音楽って、やっぱり特別だと思う。

人間の進化のどこか深いところに根ざしているような、原始的で、本能的で、根源的で、言葉では言い表せない何かがある。

そして歌うと、その感覚はもっと強くなる。
誰かと一緒に歌えば、さらに。
ハーモニーで歌えば、なおさら。

そんな特別で、本能的で、根源的で、言葉を超えたハーモニーの音楽を、私たちと一緒に歌いませんか。

主に200年前の讃美歌を英語で歌うが日本語でも簡単に歌詞を説明します。また、英語、日本語、その他の言語でフォークソングも歌います。知識・経験不要。参加無料。献金自由。

There’s some special about music. Something deep down that harkens back to our evolution as humans, something primal, something elemental, something ineffable.

All the more so when we sing. Even more so when we sing with other people. And even more than that when we sing in harmony with other people. Come sing special, primal, elemental, ineffable, harmonious music with us.

We sing mainly in English, but with easy Japanese explanations of English lyrics. We sing folksongs too, in English, Japanese, and other languages. No experience necessary. FREE! Donations accepted.
